I drive fairly aggressively and just had my 42nd tire installed today :{ at 116,975 miles with my manual transmission dually. The amazing thing is that I still have 60% of my original brakes left (front disc, rear drums). The rotors are beginning to show some wear, but the pads are holding up just fine. I have never even adjusted the rear brakes. I guess I owe this all to the Jacobs E-brake. Anyone with similar experience?

Similar results here with an e-brake, front discs, rear drums, manual trans.

Bought pads at about 80k to change and after removing the tires the originals were only about 1/3 used max. Changed em out anyways since I was in there (you know, when its not broken - fix it), but at 150k, the fronts are about 1/4-1/3 used again but not sure about the rears this time. Its stopping fine, but sure they are close to needing service.

Regular use of the e-brake and having respect for the brakes really seems to work.

That is amazing mileage on these Dodge brakes. I did replace the front on my 95 DRW at 80K+, although I still had a lot of pad left. The rear drum brakes never showed much sign of wear. Does anyone know how well the rear discs hold out on the newer models?

Looks like then it is not entirely uncommon for the manuals. I had a friend who was replacing brakes, rotors with heat cracks, every 12-20k, but he was driving an auto.

It seems to me that I replaced my front pads somewhere around 110k, there was still about 1/8 inch of material left but someone on the forum had some sort of deal going for some really good replacements and I figured it was about time.

Only up to 170K now and the new one are still fine.

Oh, that's with a 5sp manual, no e-brake, fair amount of towing, but mostly daily driving in mountain terrain, 35 miles each way to work & back.

I have put about 271k on my fronts since replacement and have a little less then half left. The rears are still original with 393k and lots of life left. I opened up the hight sensing valve long ago so the rears are doing something. I do have a manual, e-brake and I'm nice to the brakes. One more thing is that about 265k of those miles on the fronts were OTR, 115k of which was loaded. My fronts were not dead when I changed them but I wanted a fresh start when I hit the road transporting RVs. So I have been happy.

Friend of mine has an 02 6 spd with well over 150k, had exh brake installed when he bought truck new - tells me the pads are only 30 -40 % worn.
