We were getting in the truck the other day and as my wife climbed in on the passenger side, she asked, "what are those buttons on your steering wheel for?". I said, "What the cruise control?" "No, the one on the BACK of the steering wheel". 3 years and I never knew they were there. Spent the next few miles adjusting the volume and switching modes on the radio:rolleyes::eek::eek:

I laughed out loud at your story. You must be old and low tech, like I am.

Christmas in June.

Yea, I remember when power steering was a "luxury option", and you had to buy the "hi output" heater if you needed enough heat to drive without freezing to death. All of our company trucks even had the radio delete, and we had an F-600 that had the foot operated windshield washer pump. We've sure come a long way:-laf

:-laf:-laf:-laf,made me think of my mom/dad(live about 500 miles away),Dad bought his 03 Dodge Hemi(i know i tried tried tried to get him into the Cummins but no luck)and could not figure out for the life of him what that noise was every time he got into the vehicle and drove away-"Click",just once ,stopped did some runabout, fired her back up again---"Click. I just laugh to myself to keep them in suspense for a bit and then told them it was the automated "door locks"to keep the bad guys out. Pops has come along way though and really likes this new ride/bells and whistles too.

Test drove a Jeep with the MyGig nav, The buttons on the back of the steering wheel controlled nav, radio, sat, info center, and your phone through bluetooth, plus a couple other features in the radio. Would be fantastic once I figured out which button does what. Now just need the down payment to make the payments reasonable.

Took me 3-4 years to discover that the sun visors not only swing to the side window, but they also pull out a few inches, for those times when the sun is just off the tip of the visor. I never read that section of the manual.

When the kids were young and I first had a car with the steering wheel buttons I told them the car was voice activated. They used to shout out from the back seat "change channel" all the time on trips. It was amusing for a while. Glad they didn't go everywhere with me!

Thanks betterthanstock for the visor information. I did not know that. It probably would have taken me many years to discover this!

Well it only took me 3-4 days to figure this one out, but when I DID discover by accident, I swore that whichever engineer was the first to conceive of and draw this idea out MUST be going to engineering heaven when he or she dies. :-laf

I'm sitting here laughing at myself and my own stupidity!

I'm driving my second Gen III Ram and I didn't have even a suspicion that the sun visors would extend! I'll have to try that "new feature" tonight when my wife and I go out for dinner.

Wow! All these new features.

That's why I always take the manual after the buy to the throne!

Did you know that your windshield wiper delays wait twice the time when at a full stop?

No, I didn't know that either! I always "read" the manuals when I get a new one but I guess the truth is I mostly scan and read only what I think might be new. I guess I've missed a few things.

I didnt know the visors did that either. It took someone showing me how to turn on the driving lights in the bumper. I'm going to go look and see if I have any radio button on the back of my steering wheel.

I have an 05, top of the line, Laramie and it doesn't have the sun visor pull out to shade behind the mirror. What it does have is a shaded grid pasted to the windshield behind the mirror. Which year model have the pull out?

Make sure it's out of the retainer bracket at the end, like when you turn it to the side window, in order to pull it out.

I had my truck for over a year before I discovered the storage box under the center of the front bench seat. Last year, I saw a button on the lower part of the dash and found out my brake pedal height was adjustable.

It is sort of nice finding these things over time. Almost makes you feel like you have a new truck... ... ... ... Not quite, but almost.
