Want to see something funny/sad? I was just watching this week's episode of the Amazing Race 3, and they had a preview of next wednesday's episode (10/30). In it, the teams are driving around in some diesel mini pickups (crew cab Nissans, I think), and it looks like they need to fill up the trucks. At least three of the eight remaining teams happily fill them up with unleaded fuel, and the trucks naturally die soon after.

It's sad, they even showed the camera guys getting a shot of where it says "DIESEL" in red letters on the fuel door while the dummies were happily pumping unleaded. .

the heck with them voting!!!! we need to discourage those morons from breeding!! Big idiots make smaller idiots in great numbers that grow into bigger idiots!!

Anyone who fills up a diesel powered vehicle with gasoline absolutely deserves to have the engine toasted!

Don't trust gas attendants either. I once went to the fuel station in town and the guy asked me if I wanted to fill up with diesel or gas!!!!  I always pump my own fuel now.

Watched it last night - pretty darn funny. Only thing I can say is that those little diesels must be real quiet & smooth to be mistaken for gas engines. I'm guessing exhaustion had something to do with the mistake.

Did anybody else notice that the one guy drained the gasoline on the ground?

Grand daughter

My son says "First vehicle Grand daughter should not be a diesel". I ask "Why?". He says "She would put gas in it. " . Grand daughter over hears and says "Dad, do you think I am an idiot?" With a look that would kill. I have taught that girl well... ... She wants a TDI Volks... .

I saw that they were putting what looked like a gasoline nozzle in the tank and the fuel door said DIESEL, I told the wife and when the truck quit she laughed and then we changed channels.

Even the camera man was as supid to not stop them.

Yeah. I could not believe that. And then just drove off. I was imagining the look on the face of the person who tosses the cigarette butt out the window, only to see the whole side of the road explode.

For all the above, I am completely happy that the wife asks me to fill her TDI every time it needs fuel. The problem with the VW is that unless you look inside the filler door, there's nowhere else on the car that states that it takes DIESEL fuel. They need to get on the ball as well. Anyone else catch the sorry VW commercials for the TDI that aired earlier this year for about three weeks? Nowhere in the commercials did they say the word DIESEL. Like, hello! No wonder they only lasted three weeks.

Yeah, I could not believe that idiot draining gas all over the ground. I was yelling at the TV for a cop to show up and haul him off.

As far as the camera guys - they're supposed to be flys on the wall. They aren't supposed to help them, although I bet when they were getting the closeup of the Diesel sticker they were having a hard time not giggling.

Heck, They cross fuel trucks At UPS all the time!!! I always laughed at some of the numbskull drivers that would get into the truck in the AM and pump the crap out of the throttle before trying to start a diesel:rolleyes:
