Was The Earth Round Before Columbus?

Angry Eagle

While watching the Evening news, I'm totaly amazed at the amount of military info broadcast to the world.

Reports of what ship is leaving where, how many on board, and where it's headed. What aircraft are leaving, etc.

Maybe the news shows should just add bin Laden to their e-mail distribution list.

I hope I'm not the only one who finds this a little distubing.

Some of my buddies may be heading that way.

I 100% agree, but think that's changed Shovelhead. They used to post ship locations on the web - that's taken down now. Today they announced the TR going to the Med? My guess it is really going a bit farther East.

The reality is that the ships are pretty hard to hide. Think the reports of the B-52/B-1 bomber movements to Diego Garcia are to show that something is happening - gets these so called friends either with us or against us.

I really believe much of what needs to be done will be done covertly. Any CNN reporter that by chance gets some coverage and then broadcasts it should be shot as a traitor along with uncle Ted (Turner).

My suspicions are that this is all a bit misleading... on purpose. I realize that may be a stretch, but the alternative is disturbing.

Exactly. I think this can be a powerful intelligence weapon. Do you remember during the Gulf War there was extensive coverage of amphibious assualt practice on the news? The costal defenses in Kuwait were much stronger than where we actually went. I remember at the time I was furious about all the news coverage. Then it was revealed that that info was spoon fed to the media for the purpose of misleading the enemy. I wouldn't bet a dime that any of this strategic information is reliable. Some of it may be, most of it probably is not.

The media is completely out of hand these days anyway, with their irresponsible and biased coverage. Just listen to Jennings whine about "where is the President", or Bill Maher's rantings. (What is going ON at ABC these days, anyway??)

I think it's GOOD the government is using them to spoon feed propaganda to the masses. That's about all the media is good for anyway, so might as well use them to the gov't's advantage.

Pretty soon there will be more Media jokes than Lawyer jokes out there.

Just as long as the media idiots don't start listing all the soldier/sailors names on TV and where their families live along with SS#, phone #, and sexual orientation.

Fox - which typically stands above the rest - had some 22 year old yo-yo on TV this morning that supposedly knew where the Queen's Islamic terrorist group was housed but never could get through to the FBI to discuss that bit of information. He had personally interviewed one of Bin Laden's lieutenants and met the terrorist group.

The Taliban asked the CNN correspondent to leave Kabul. CNN was petitioning them to let the idiot stay. What are those coordinates for his hotel?

This is a fight for the military. As much as possible, the politicians, media, and public opinion needs to stay out of the fight.

The media - I hope they get used and abused and wind up with camel dung all over themselves if they can't exercise restraint and use some common sense!

Dont lose sight of the fact that many of the liberals and most of major media guys like jennings, brokaw, and dan blather, are ever bit as terrorized by the prospect of Bush comming out of this looking good and thereby way ahead in the next presidential election as they are by the terrorist.

They will be very intent on finding ways to try to avoid Bush gaining politically from this conflict. They will 'appear' to be in support of the administration, but they will also be running the next presidential campaign too, and that means do what ever they can to try to make Bush his efforts look bad.
