91 year Old Woman takes Out 20 Year Old (Man???)

I am frustrated. I know it may seem small to some but it is really getting to me lately, maybe because I'm in the mainstream. It all started with my kids HAVING to take spanish in school. I think another language is great but HAVING to take a certain one because of my location (New Mexico) is wrong.

Then comes TV, I'm not a big TV person so I got basic cable. I only get about 18 channels, the network stuff, a few shopping channels and 4 spanish channels. Well today they removed sci fi which was the only interesting channel I had and brought in another spanish channel. What do I need 5 out of 18 channels being spanish for? I live in NEW Mexico not Mexico. If I lived in Italy I would not expect them to have a single english channel much less such a large portion of programming in english.

I'm thinking I'm going to cancel my cable as there was not much need for it before and certainly not now. This makes me want to go off on the illegal immigration problems but I'm not in the mood.

I am beginning to believe it is too late to correct the situation. My folks live in Oregon and they are seeing the same things you describe. I am in So Cal and I feel the same way you do. What can a person do, when the politicians cater to illegals?

I'd better stop now or I may regret some things later.

Overwhelmingly,

Casey

Hold them accountable at the ballot box, that's about it.

Hell then you just get more of the same with the next bunch that are elected. They might have different affiliations, but they are all the same.

Sorry guys, but I think its too late. We are the minority now, which is why the politicians cater to them. When we go back to the constitution, as originally intended, things might improve. There aren't enough of us that think alike to do the job at the ballot box. Too many Soccermoms want the Govt. to do everything for them, and are too willing to give up their rights and responsibilities to make that happen. The communists said a long time ago, that they wouldn't raise the Hammer and Sickle in this country, we would do it ourselves. Seems to be coming true. Sad but true. I don't want to get started, but you catch my drift.

I can only imagine what it's like that far south.

When I drove down main street all the illegals are waving at me yelling "Senior". I dont believe they think I'm a relative.

I guess it's at least good theyre willing to work. :(

Things could be worse I guess.

Eric :(

The bad thing is that so many come for medical attention which we pick up the tab yet if your an American you wont be seen period without proof of insurance. I have a friend who was having troubles after getting out of the military, there aren't allot of decent paying jobs around here so he applied for unemployment. He's been out of work for 3 months now and hasn't received a penny from unemployment because he hasn't received a copy of his DD 214. They wont take his pay stubs or anything.

He got disability of 100 dollars a month and he was held up on food stamps because they wanted a letter from the VA saying exactly what he got because they didn't know if taxes were being taken out of the 100 bucks he was getting from the VA  . Now I know he really needs it for him and his family and if it weren't for friends he would be sunk. The moral of the story is, everytime I drive by the welfare office I see no less than 3 cars (out of a row of 12) that have Chico Mexico plates on them. I know they don't have near the documents my friend needed but they are taking food and tax dollars back into Mexico and it's easier for Mexican's than it is us.

I can't even count how many children are born here DAILY that we pick the tab up for. There is also a school in one of our border towns that sends a bus across the border to bring kids back for school EVERYDAY

It's some of the same people allowing this to happen as the one's who are fighting for our enemies rights. We treat people allot better than anyone would treat us but were getting blown up and our heads cut off and our own countrymen are more concerned that a killer doesn't have his Koran (no I don't know how to spell it) desecrated. You think they would give 2 #$%#'s about us getting a Bible?

We are so concerned about everyone else's rights we have given up our own, we take care of other's (including the enemy) before we take care of ourselves. One day the people who are willing to fight for rights and freedom will be gone... a truly sad day but inevitable I'm afraid. OK rant off.

Keep ranting! I'm so disgusted with this problem also. The videos on Hannity and Colmes a few weeks ago of hundreds of illegals walking across the border made me sick. There are actual trails for them to take! And water stations to assist them in their endeavors! We have a senator here in Colorado that is taking this on, Tom Tancredo. This has to stop. It's totally out of hand.

I agree with what everyone says here. We are going to go further downhill if we continue allowing this. What happened to the immigrants coming to America to work and make a better life for themselves while blending in to the existing culture instead of coming here to get handouts and keeping their own native culture and language :confused: :-{}

Jnelson

Jnelson, you are right on the money with that statement. . i feel like i am in a foreign country. The problem is finding the illegals from the decent "Tejanos" that have been here a few generations. . ... BUT,my opinion, it's STILL Texas D@MMIT. . speak English :-{} Oo.

I can't fix the illegal problem, but I can recommend DirecTV for the TV problem. There are about 6 Discovery channels on DirecTV now plus SciFi, etc. I almost never watch boradcast network TV anymore.

Not just water stations, the government of Mexico actual has a pamplet they put out that shows where they can go to meet less resistance, get medical care and how to obtain benefits! It also explains what will happen to them and the proceedure they should follow if they happen to get caught.

I am cancelling my cable and going to Direct TV, already in the works :)

I don't know if anyone has heard this story or not but a while back there was an illegal alien (not from Mexico) who caused a car accident and he recieved severe brain damage. He was in a U. S. hospital for over a year with a hospital bill over 1 million dollars. The hospital finally said he was well enough to go to a hospital in his own country and shipped him home.

He couldnt pay his hospital bills and after 2 weeks his home country hospital kicked him out. A U. S. judge ORDERED the hospital in the U. S. to allow him to return and continue care!! Millions more in hospital bills we are paying for just for one person who shouldnt have been here in the first place. Can you get care like this if you cant afford to pay? I think not.

Yep, and predictably, the press villifies Tancredo every chance they get. He's right on with this issue.

Yes Tom Tancredo is the Man, Also Lou Dobbs(CNN news). Lou Dobbs hammers the problem like no one else on T. V. Hard to belive CNN is letting Lou Dobbs Say what he dose.

You don't have to tell me twice about the way things are, I'm on the border. The best thing is seeing cars with Mexico plates sitting in driveways and apartment parkinglots, no they aren't visiting, they live here. Called the insurance company about what would happen if I was in an accident with a car from Mexico? The answer I got was we will pay for them if you are at fault, if they are at fault... well... it might be covered.

One thing is for sure though, crime is not as bad as it could be. Big Kudos to the El Paso PD and the work they do. They are all over the place, and speeding is a big no no here.

Scott

I get flown by everytime I drive to El Paso. Seems they think the speed limit is 95 and they have quite a few freeway accidents to show for it. Though I have seen one get busted once.

Yeah that's great. Now my blood is boiling. This is exactly what I'm talking about. My health insurance is a JOKE. The only policy I can afford being self employed, covers about... squat. Meanwhile, Joe illegal, or should I say, Jose, gets all the medical treatment he needs with no strings attatched or payment required. Tom Tancredo for President in '08!

On a lighter note, I'm a happy DirecTV customer. There's also the Military Channel. :D
