By chance has anyone installed an Amp BedStep2 (part number 75406-01A) on the side(s) of a 2014 3500 crew cab dually?

I've seen several websites indicating this kit will indeed fit the 2014 when used along with adapter 75611-01A, but Amp's website is less than clear about it.

Thanks,

John L.

Unless this is a model they just released, no it will not fit. I purchased one a while back along with the adapter and absolutely could not figure out how to install per the instructions. I called Amp research and they told me it WILL NOT fit a 2013 Ram Dually. They said some of their resellers have them listed improperly because they weren't aware of the frame change which also changed the mounting points of the bed. The step is supposed to mount to a rail on the bed that isn't even there.

Somebody call the WAAAmbulance! I have a transferflow tank in the back and could really use the step-m-up to get that nozzle into the tank! Are you listening good friends at AMP?

I hear ya! I'm 6'2" and still carry around a 6x6 block to stand on and can barely reach the snap ring to remove it on my B&W 5th wheel. The bed step would be perfect! I didn't send it back cuz I figured one of these days when I have the truck up on the lift I'll fabricate something, or better yet AMP will make a new bracket that will work with the step I already bought.

JL, I don't think that's what they had in mind by the term "High Heeled Sneekers"... :) PE- I've had to loose weight just to get close enough to the fill nick to add fuel!

I had amp 2 step and it mounted right on the front of the bed. I needed something I could get on to work my hitch when hooking up, got a nerf bar that flares with the fender on my dually.

I have that AMP step on my 2014 2500. Good, but wish it were two steps. What is the difference in the frame for a dually vs single? (Mine is not a dually)

It's the DRW fender that prevents the side bed step from working. The step doesn't extend far enough out to be usable.

My Dad installed one on his 20121 Dually. He sent it back. it's right near the front of the bed so it is useless for hitching and net easy to get into the toolbox.

I am making a custom step for mine that will actually be usefull.

I had gotten Dutch the AMP rear & side step for our 2014 Ram Dually 3500 for Christmas. It is amazing how much highter the 2014 is than our beloved 1996! The rear was OK but the side step didn't work. We spoke to AMP on several occasions and they told us the reason they couldn't get the side step finished was because they had no 2014 truck to use. We offered our truck and they said to bring it to them. We spent a day and a half there. That was April 1st 2014. They made a prototype on our truck and installed it on the driver side. That step sure helps lock the hitch bar in place and easily reach items down in the bed. They were not going to make the one for the passenger side at that time but were working on it. We received a phone call last week that they had our passenger side step ready to ship so I gave them our current address. It should be here Thursday evening and I'll post again once Dutch has installed it.
Even though our folding step stool is easy to use, it will be much better to have the amp side steps right there on both sides. Of course we still need it to wash the 5th wheel.
We still like our DeBoe rear slide step much better than the AMP but there again, DeBoe hasn't finalized the model that will fit the higher sitting 2014 Ram Dually. They tell us in the next few months. The rear AMP step for Dutch just isn't as steady as the DeBoe and he likes being able to step up and down from the rear of the tailgate instead of off to the hard to see side where AMP is mounted. Hugs, Di

The one they made for our drivers side is just in front of the dually so we can both reach the hitch bar. Don't have a tool box so not sure about that issue. Hugs, Di

I will post some pics when done with mine. I am having the step part powder coated now. The step it's self looks like the Curt step you can install into your receiver. Mine is just ahead of the rear tire on the drivers side.

Di, can you take some pictures of your setup from AMP and tell me who you talked to? You said you got yours in April, it was May when I called them and they told me they didn't have one....

While they did make a step for us in April because they had our truck on site to take measurements for the 2014's. I was told, it would be several months before production would begin. I think-but am not positive that there was also a change of ownership going on which delayed things even more. With them sending me the passenger side, it is a good sign that they are progressing but I'm still not 100% sure they are in actual production yet. I'll take pictures when I get package. Hugs, Di

How about posting photos and plans. I have the dealer installed Mopar running boards and would like some kind of better step. They are pretty high and wife has problems getting in and out. (she's 4' 10.5")

The step portion is being powder coated. I will post pics when installed.
