Amplifer not powering on sometimes

My MTX amp powers on ok in the acc mode but will not always kick in when the truck is running. The amp light will show up dim and no output from speakers. If I cycle the fan switch from off to full it will sometimes power up the amp. Seems to be more problematic on cold days. If I'm driving and I try to cycle the fan it won't work. I have to be at a idle to get the fan trick to work. My stereo is an Eclipse with aftermarket Infinites. The head unit is new and it also did this with my Alpine HU. The amp power on wire is hooked up.

Any Ideas?

It kinda sounds like a ground issue from the amp to me. Usually, by turning on another attached device, you are just providing a path to ground.



Might be something to check.
