AMSOIL Air filter Part #

What part # do I need for my '92 on the air filter. Do I have to do any mods from my K&N to the amsoil? I need the amsoil but need a #! Thanks to all... .

I just got my Amsoil Air Filter the other day in the mail. I unfortunately forget the number right now but will check when I get home tonight for you. You will need to modify the Amsoil filter because they do not make it for a 1992. What needs to be done is find or create the Metal round part that goes up against the inside wall. I figured that I would just see if I can take apart my original one and make that one fit. Basically all that comes from Amsoil is a hollow air filter and one end needs to be blocked. Maybe even a sheetmetal person would be able to create a simple one for little $$.

I have modified these air filters before by removing the end form the OEM filter, then cleaning it our where the glue was. I then install it on the end of the Amsoil foam filter.

3dracer, sorry it took so long to get the part # for you. The part number I have is S1525. I took my old filter out the other night and just put my Amsoil filter right in. I didn't even need to put any type of sheet metal on the back side. It looks as though my stock filter is suppose to have some bolt run through the middle of it and hold it onto the front cover via a wing nut but mine has never had that. Once I put the new filter in and tightened it all down, I stuck my hand inside and felt that it was making good contact around the edges, both against the back case and front cover. I plan on checking it again in about 1000 miles to see if any dirt is getting into the Turbo or not. I thought what would take a couple of hours took 5 minutes. Hope this helps. Main part is too keep dirt from getting to Turbo and making seal is good.
