I just installed my Amsoil EaaU4090 air filter in place of my Bhaf and... ... Holy Crap... . Either my Bhaf was that dirty or this thing flows some serious air. After about 2lbs. of boost it sounds like the turbo is sitting on my lap, and then go to 20lbs. +, WOW..... Does anyone have a silencer ring and snap ring they want to get rid of????? THis truck didn't come with one and now I need one... . Thanks, MArc

Firemanmarc,

I've also have a "97" 3500 4x2, I'm interested in your opinion of that Amsoil Ea air filter. As a Dealer I've been hounding Amsoil to make an EaaU filter as a direct replacement for the "AFE" filter I have on my truck, which has a 4. 5 inch flange and a 9 inch Media height.

Apparently your filter has a 4 inch flange. From all the research I've seen, this is the best flow filter on the market and still captures more dirt, and you can clean it with low pressure compressed air or a shop vac. No oil required.

That sure beats the overnight soaking I had to give that AFE to get it to come clean. PM if you would to let me know how you like that filter down the road.

Thanks, Glen on the Ohio river, Beaver PA

The BHAF in my truck was fairly dirty when I replaced it with the new Amsoil filter, and I had the same results. The turbo whistle increased 10fold (which is fine by me) The Super B was a fairly quiet turbo to begin with, but I cant imagine an HX35 with this new filter and no silencer ring.....

Well everyones unbearable is different and I know for sure my WIFE'S is different than mine, that is why I might like a silencer. My turbo is a HX-40 hybrid and darn I wish I had a microphone to record the in cab noise. It did lower my egt's back to where they were before I put the muffler back on. . Will certainly post about this down the road. . Sure will make it's way onto a few tractors here if it works good..... Marc
