Welcome to the TDR.
A couple of tips to get the most out of the TDR. First, to get the most replies to your questions, make your posts in the forum that fits your topic best. Under the bold forum titles the small text explains what to post in that forum. For instance, this thread should be in the RAM The Third Generation section and 5. 9 Engine and Transmissions forum instead of here in the 911 forum.
Next is the search feature. Put your mouse arrow over the Discussion Forums drop down menu at the upper right of the screen. Now go down to Search Forums and click on it. Now type in "BMK-15" in the Search by Key Word field (use the quotation marks around the BMK-15 to help narrow the search results). Goto the bottom of the page and click on the search now button. You will now have more info than you ever wanted.
Readers Digest answer: Amsoil does not recommended the BMK-15 for a 3g truck (that includes yours). Amsoil appears to be good about allowing returns so you might see if you can swap it for a plain stand alone bypass kit. Try contact who you got the unit from or asking Wayne (Amsoilguy) for help.
The unit was an ingenious attempt to combine a remote full flow filter with a bypass filter and have just two hoses to hook up, but unfortunately it has several poor engineering compromises. The unit caused the oil warning light to come on on some third gen trucks, but its inherent design flaws make it a questionable product for any truck, not just the third gens. If you still want to use it, I can list several questions to ask before putting it on your expensive motor.
So to answer your original question: the suggested mounting location for the BMK-15 is anywhere EXECPT on your truck!
