Just thought I would share pic and experience installing Amsoil BMK-23 (thought it was BMK-24 when I bought it) on my 2009 Ram C&C 6.7L Cummins. A few weeks ago, I was rummaging around the tractor shed where I found this old Amsoil bypass system I used to run on my 2002 Ram 3500 along with an aux engine oil cooler. So, thought I would clean it up and reuse it on my C&C. I looked at installing it high on the frame under the turbo, but could fit a drill in there to drill the holes for the mounting bracket. So, I decided to mount on the firewall where I used to have an air tank for my air horns, which I no longer use. I also added a Derale fan operated engine oil cooler to help with cooling. Setup works like a charm, although not tested while towing yet. I also gained 3 more quarts of oil capacity with this setup.

Interesting fact is Amsoil Techs and folks on the Cummins and this forum report 2004+ 5.9Ls and 2007+ 6.7Ls oil pressure sensors don't like oil filter relocation kits and use the smaller fittings on top of the stock oil filter housing to tap in a single bypass oil filter. Also interesting, I'm not seeing any problems, although haven't tested under heavy towing yet.

I had reasons for installing this on the C&C: oil bypass filtering works and I had three sets of Amsoil filters new in the box. And, after running the truck without EGR cooler and DPF with Smarty on level 5 for almost 8 years, I decided to reinstall them due to traveling in states the strictly enforce exhaust emissions. Believe me, the EGR cooler and DPF significantly increase engine operating temps. My first trip out back in September 2017 grossing 32,400 lbs with truck and RV proved significantly higher EGTs, 1600' a lot on big long grades and 1200' as a norm up from 900' on the flats so about 300' to 400' degrees hotter. Coolant temps rose to right on the edge of red on temp gauge, maybe 240'. I used this setup successfully on my 2002 3500 as additional cooling for the oil resulted in also reducing coolant temps. The oil is cooled by coolant in the OEM oil cooler, which means oil heat is transferred to coolant, which raises the coolant temp.

Honestly, I was tempted to remove the EGR cooler and DPF again, and if I don't see the same cooling results I had with the 2002 3500, I may choose to become a bandido again and remove the emissions crap again. BYW, the truck exhaust never produced noticeable smoke.

So aside from any potential cooling and increase in oil capacity gains, I can change the oil filters from the top.

No clearance issues. The bypass body is attached to the lip above the firewall and I reversed the L bracket the came with the kit that rest against the firewall. I opted to not drill screws into the firewall. Not too shabby for shade tree engineering, hugh?

Just thought I would add: you would have to remove the larger bypass filter on the left to attach AC service hose to the A/C fitter, then reattach filter to service A/C.
