I am planning to put a Amsoil By-Pass filter set up on my truck.

I will get the adapter from CPFF, make up my own lines and use Amsoils dual filter remote mount, from the BMK-15 kit.

My question is can the mount be modified to accept the Fleetguard oil filter? I will be using Amsoils bypass filter but would like to continue using the Fleetguard oil filter.

I thought I had read a thread about doing that here but can't find it now.

Any suggestions?

Craig

I believe that's a negative on issue of fitting the Fleetguards or the Amsoil SDF 80 on the dual remote.

How and where do you plan on mounting your unit?

I have the adapter, battery mount and lines from CPFF. Like an idiot I ordered the individual Amsoil components to complete the kit instead of paying a little extra and ordering the complete BMK 15 kit from Amsoil. Long story short Amsoil has upset me so much (Have sent me 2 damaged BK 209... . the filter mount assembly you screw the filters on) I'm sending it all back for a refund. I need to either send back CPFF's stuff for a refund or sell it.

I'm not a happy camper with Amsoil at the moment. :(

You may want to get CPFF's lines already done. There crimped end, braided stainless steel hoses and they are the exact length to go from the block adaptor to the CPFF battery mount. They dont cost much more then the parts do to make them yourself and you know there done right.

As for an adaptor for the oil filter to allow you to use the Fleetguard filters, i have never heard of an adaptor to allow it and looking at the unit, i dont see how it can be done. The Fleetguard filters have a much larger center hole and the Amsoil is smaller.

I think someone bought or made a threaded bushing to adapt the nipple on the filter head up to the size of the FG filter. Dunno.

The bypass filter has the same threads as the Cummins filter so call amsoil tech support and order the bypass nipple and remove the full flow filter nipple and replace it with the bypass nipple and the Cummins Fleetguard filter will screw on. My system is an older one so double check yours to make sure nothing has been changed.
