Please refer me to a mfg. for mounting my Amsoil remote By-Pass system for my 2000 6 spd. My Amsoilman is not much help.

TeamViper,
Are you looking for someone to install the by-pass system, or are you just wanting information on how to install?

If you want information on how to install, you can get that by reading in the TDR Issue #26 page 114 "Product Showcase".

When you get to the part of installing the return line to the "swivel" fitting on the oil fill cap, disregard. Just install the self tapping "hollow fitting" in the valve cover. This fitting is supplied in the Amsoil kit. Make sure you remove cover before installing to assure you do not come in contact with any moving parts, such as valves.

Thank You for the timely reply Wayne. I saw the article in the last issue regarding mounting the by-pass off the battery. What I am looking for is some bright individual who has marketed his own mounting kit (hopefully metal). I plan on doing the work my self, and I would appreciate any advice on the best location to mount in a 2000 6 spd 4x4. By the way I stole my wife away from nearby Hooper, years ago while flying out of Hill AFB. Thanks again Wayne, I look forward to your reply.

teamviper:

I may be able to dig up some recources that will allow a "kit" to mount the by-pass filter. I also have some photos that may help if I can put my hands on them.

Viper:

Most people choose to mount the remote filter in the engine compartment next to the battery. IMHO it doesn't look good there... not a very professional appearance.

In issue 14 of the TDR there is an article describing mounting the remote filter under the truck on the front crossmember, passenger side. I mounted mine there two years ago and I've had absolutely no trouble with it. Rest assured, it's also out of harm's way.

Jim Leonard, who lives in Los Angeles (909/681-5406) and is a retired Cummins mechanic, makes a fitting to mount the remote filter head. It makes installation very simple.

Let me know if you need more help. His telephone number is located in the Links section of the TDR website.

VWTdi thank you for the post. EZ94, that is exactly what I am looking for. I will call that contact later this week.

For you Amsoil dealers monitoring this thread please convey to your fine company that not having mounting adapters, or whatever we want to call it, is short sided and should be addressed. It is critical that these oil systems are mounted in optimal locations, and with hardware worthy of the application.

Thankyou

teamviper,
If that does not work out, I saw a nice metal mount in HVAC's truck. He made it himself and might need the cash for his ailing transmission..... #ad

TEAMVIPER,

AMSOIL sells to the general public, not just RAM/Cummins owners. A generic mount would be almost impossible and would add to the cost of the kit. AMSOIL has a Dual Remote By-Pass filter system that has an adapter that screws onto the block and remotes both filters to any place you want to mount them. I installed these on 5. 9l cummins and 7. 3 International school bus engines. We mounted these behind the Engine and transmission on the frame. Hope this answered some questions. The AMSOIL part no. for the Dual Remote for a cummins is BMK-15.

Thanks
Danny
