This may cause more confusion than help or just confirm that the DC gauages really are crap.

I know that many people have oil pressure concerns after they install the Amsoil Dual By pass, as did I. So I finally got around to running my Quick Check II on my truck to see what the pressure was doing. Of course this may only relate to my truck but u can draw your own parallels to your trucks if you want.

At operating temp and at speed my stock oil pressure gauage shows the needle just a tad past (half the needle width) dead nuts on the 40psi mark. Now this is low(or appears to be) according to Cummins which calls for min. of 45psi at rated speed.

What I found when I hooked up my QCII was that above descriped reading on the stock gauage was actually 51psi on the QCII. Could be that the stock gauage is poorly marked and crap or calibrated wrong at the factory, but I found that my oil pressure was not out of spec. BTW idle oil pressure was 25psi which is well above the low limit of 15psi too.

So take from this what you want to, be it confidence or skepticism but hopefully it will help someone.

BTW I'm not affiliated with ANY auto or accesory companies at all.

Hope this helps
