I recently installed my bypass filter and got the return line fitting to return the oil to the stock oil filler cap. Drilled out the cap and hooked it all up but the return line fitting doesn't stick out the bottom of the cap and it seems this is causing some leakage. Is there any way to extend the fitting safely so that it extends past the bottom of the cap? I am only getting a wee bit of oil on the valve cover but I hate oil leaking.

The factory cap uses a torque-limiting mechanism that prevents you from drilling all the way through it. I found the best way to do this is to purchase a Stant oil filler cap model #11111, which does not have a spring loaded torque limiter in it. That cap can easily be drilled. Wayne (Amsoilman) might have other suggestions too...
