Help. Purchased an amsoil dual bypass filter from a local amsoil dealer. Must have gotten an older model because the adapter plate that bolts in place of where the old oil filter went does not fit. Went to local machine shops and found that my oil filter mount on the engine is 1x16, and the adapter plate i am trying to put on is 1x12 threaded. Do the older cummins have this thread type or did I get an International adapter for the powerstroke? Thanks

Sounds like the wrong part for your kit. I am sure Amsoil will take care of it. There is another alternative though. There is a member who goes by "CPFF" he makes a billet adapter for it and it sure is nice. Top quality piece of work. Made my install easier because you can adjust where you want the fittings. Quite a few members are using it. Might be worth a search to get picture and comments.

Amsoil tech support # 715-392-7101

part # BP 176

I have the exact same problem and thats the # they gave me, it should be here next wed I hope.

I am with Barry on the CPFF adapter. i ran the amsoil one for almost a year before I gave up on stopping the leak and got you from john. It is a vast improvement that I wish I had gotten from the beginning. It is worth double the price is piece of mind.

Did you get the BMK-15 Dual Remote System? That is the correct # for the By-Pass system. You should contact John and get his battery mount and adapter. Easy to set up and looks cool.

Looking at my data from Amsoil, I do not see any adapters that have a thread size of 1. 0 X 12. The Amsoil By-pass Adapter that comes with the BMK-15(Dodge/Cummins)kit should have 1. 0 X 16 thread size. The Gasket I. D. should be 2. l5in. and the O. D. should be 2. 75in. The adapter by itself has a part# of BP-176.

I agree with the others on the adapter made by John as it is top notch!

My 2 cents.
