I am concerned about the change in oxidation which has increased 1269 ppm from 8 ppm. Sulfur increased to 135 ppm from 12 ppm.

Amsoil 5w30 HDD had 5,000 miles on it. Ran the truck on several -40F days this winter.

How do the numbers look?

I wonder if the amsoil had any calcium in this batch? I dont see any. Oxidation is usually in a percentage. I wonder too if the number is 12. 69 instead of 1269? Did it have any Phos in it?

The wear rates look real low.

Don your right.

Oxidation is reported as a percentage. The figure didn't contain a decimal point, so it propably is 12. 69% up from 8. 0%.

No reported Phos.

I switched to Delo Synthetic after the Amsoil change. Can wear rates still be trended when using different oils? Or are trends established using only one oil brand?

Many folks try different oils and see which ones give them the better performance over a few oil samples.

The Amsoil seemed to be doing good in your engine but we only had a single analysis. Try a few more samples on Delo and see what happens. If you plan on draining it every 5k or less dern near any quality oil with a good pour point will work for you.

Wonder how well the Amsoil did compared to the Delo in cold starting?
