Amsoil Oil Analysis?

Just starting to use Amsoil in the transmission and was wondering if most labs can/will run analysis on Amsoil products?



I know Amsoil offers analysis but from what I can see it' s more than double what I can go to Cummins and buy a kit to send to an independent lab for. I'm sure labs must run test data on each brand to have a baseline to compare against, just don't know if most of them would be able to test on Amsoil or not.

Price

The price on the AMSOIL kit is testing,kit, and postage both ways. Just make sure you are comparing apples to apples.

Yes I understand. The kit I buy @ my local Cummins dealer includes postage both ways and it's almost 1/2 the cost.

new amsoil kits are different

i just got a new amsoil oil sampling kit and surprise, surprise, surprise!!!! no longer a cardboard box but a slick new plastic bottle to place your sample in and YOUR POSTAGE ON!!!! no longer does the amsoil kit price cover postage to the lab..... does that make it a mandarin?



any suggestions on a new lab?

From looking at the catalog it looks like you can buy the kit with or without pre-paid postage. #2 option includes pre-paid, #3 option is not pre-paid.

Yes the kit prices just went up. So I bought the kit the local Cummins dealer sells for half as much. The Amsoil results are more complete and indepth. Is it worth it? Maybe.
