2003 and up calls for 75/90 W/o a need for the LS additive. I just put the Amsoil Severe Gear 75/90 in my truck tonight as a matter of fact...

Limited slip question also

Thanks, also another question, I am supposed to have a Limited Slip diff in the rear. Well I have my truck on the hoist and removed the stock cover, and was looking at the carrier and was wondering how this diff works? I can spin one sets of duals and the other spins in the opposite direction easily. This tells me that it is an open diff. Or do they lock after there is more of a difference in wheel speed between the right and left side wheels.

Thanks

Dustin

:--) Now that I am not sure as I am not majorly mechanically combined. . but I would love to have a hoist!!! Just changed the Trans fluid under my already low truck!!!

Yeah my hoist is awesome! I just installed it about 2 months ago! What a life saver! It is a Bend Pak 10k lbs 2 post, I ordered it off of e-bay, a guy on there A1automotive?? sells them new shipped to your door for $2365. It has been the best money I have spent!

Thanks again for the replys!

The tracrite in the AAM axles acts open when there is no load on it. The more input torque you push through it, the harder the clutches hold...

And yes, there are clutches in there... they are termed "shoes" in the parts diagram. However, they do not require LSD additive.

Thanks Guys!

Steved, that makes me understand it much better, I could tell that there was some sort of friction plate in there, cause when I turn one wheel I could see the to plates going in different directions. So then the load is created by the (not sure the correct term) twist gears that I can see in the carrier.

Thanks!
