I was running Amsoil synth 12 TBN 15W-40 and one of their filters in my previous (99') 5. 9 cummins.



Is this recommended in the 07 5. 9l engine?

The 12 TBN oil is the "AME" and is recommended for pre-07' engines. I think you want the "DME" oil which is a 15W-40 CJ oil with a 10. 4 TBN.

Since your truck does not have a DPF, you can stick with the CI4 oil as opposed to using the CJ4. You may not be able to take full advantage of extended change intervals due to excessive soot loading.

Your truck is the 5. 9 L version, so the AME 15W-40 will do you well.
