The man who found and helped assist finding Jessica Lynch was a lawyer. He is also a muslim. His wife worked in the hospital, and she told him that there was something strange going on.

He got into the hospital and eventually talked to a doctor, who told him there was an American in the critical care ward.

He managed to get into the hallway and peer through the glass, to see a black-uniformed man interrogating and beating Lynch. He scouted around the hospital to see if he could find anyone else, and also to get an idea what was going on.

He walked 6 miles out into the desert in the middle of the day, possibly criss-crossing, and avoiding Fedayeen Saddam, finally finding Marines. He told them in the few english words he knew that a woman was in the hospital.

He made 2 more trips back into town, and back out to the Marines, bring back counts, drawing maps, and obtaining data about scedules, personell, and so on. He told his wife to go and stay at her family's home, and made one last trip out to the Marines.

The Marines made a fake attack on the far end of town, and SEAL's, Rangers, and Spec Op's barged into the hospital and rescused Jessica Lynch.

Upon his last return, as they were debriefing him, he told them "I don't so much care about me, but I fear terribly for my wife and daughter, can you care for them?" Friends relayed to his wife that t hier home had been raided during the night and searched. The Marines took him, his wife, daughter, and relatives all to safety, though they lost everything. They had only the clothes they were wearing. No money, no home, nothing.

I don't care if he worships Allah or not. I would be honored to have that man as my neighbor.

Great story!!! Great man!!

When the story first broke, I thought " Oh man... someone dropped a dime on the bad guys, I sure hope he's protected. "

Glad to hear the ending is a happy one. :D

BTW the news channels are saying it was 18 miles of walking.

Just goes to show you can't paint everyone in a certain group with the same brush. I really admire him for having the courage to do the right thing, regardless of personal risk.

I think that guy and his family should be granted U. S. citizenship - I'd say he earned it. :) He sure won't be safe in Iraq as long as Saddam and his ilk are alive... . :(

Thats a man thats got the balls to stand up an do something. He did not just stand around and look(like some so called Americans).
