An open letter to Diesel Sanction body’s in reference to integrity of the sport

The diesel movement is in flux now, and the potential possibilities for growth are limitless, the people that are pouring the time, effort, and money in to a Pro operation, both racers , and sponsors need to feel confident in the fact that their investment is not nullified by illegitimate time in the public’s eyes .

I feel that the sanctioning body’s need to be proactive , and must show
due diligence’s in maintaining the integrity of all runs in performance bases categories , even on exhibition run. Simply looking the other way or ignoring the problem will lead to the public’s perceptions that these runs are genuine.

If one time slip is not real, and the issue is not address, then how can you be confident that any time slip is real.

If a Professional racer or sponsor feels that they will not get a fair shake with a diesel specific organization, the opportunities are wide open outside of the diesel world, to be paid to run, with the potential for much greater exposure for the supporters. This could really hurt the momentum, that is critical to keep the ball rolling in this growing diesel movement I do not want to see this become a reality , after we all have worked had to get to this point , but with recent events , and the Deafening silince from the Diesel Sanction bodys , somthing needs to happen

I am calling on the sanctioning bodies to issue statements outlining how they are currently, or will implement a proactive solution, to making sure any run in a record category is legitimate. Doing nothng will not cut it any more .

NHRA has outlines as to specifications that can solve the rollout problems , also in category’s that weight is a issue , a weight slip must also be attached with the time slip and publicized in a reasonable time .

If a competitor continuously makes runs with problems that exaggerate ET , IE weight , or rollout, knowing the problem, and not changing this , this to me is cheating , Plain and simple. It hurts the sport in the long run

If a sanctioning body continues to allow these types of runs, turning a deaf ear to the other competitors protest , then they will suffer the fact that these illegitimate runs will be considered just that. This also will reflect on all other records by that organization.
