boost elbow?

Thanks guys for the encouragement. I just couldnt believe what i was hearing at the dealers. Im keeping my dodge. I really do like it. Its a '97 regular cab 4x4, 5spd, 3:54, all stock. I have put in a K&N filter, turned up my pump, and straight stock exhaust. I would like to trick it out more but have to do little by little as thats how my cash comes in lol. What do you guys recomend to do first. Im apologize for my ignorance here. Yup im a green horn. I have been a diesel owner for years but this is my first cummins and i like it. The only reason i was trading is i wanted a cummins auto instead and if lucky an extended cab too. Im just gettin tired of shiftin. The truck is in excellent mechanical shape im very fussy. . but got a little ding on the right side box, but oh well just shows it is tough lol !!! Thanks a lot guys for boostin my spirits..... i just found out about this site. This is a great sight and you gys are the best. Thanks TDR for this site. Ill just warn you all in advance. . ill be askin some dumb questions!! LOL

Glad to see you decided to keep the truck. Do gauges first. An EGT gauge is the most important if you are going to tweak your truck. You will also want a boost gauge. After that, open up the intake, and exhaust. Then a different plate, and a governor spring kit. You will be really impressed with the way it runs once you have that stuff done. And Joe G. is right. There's no such thing as a dumb question.
