SBCGLOBAL fixed?

A couple of gripes with posting:

1. Not being able to post the same picture more than once

2. The ridiculous 10 character minimum for posts... you can't answer using a short one word answer and sometimes it's appropriate

3. Tiny file size limits on jpegs, gifs, tiffs, etc

Any plans to get rid of these annoying little "nannies"?

Not to disparage your gripe, which may be completely legitimate, but the limits aren't *that* tight. To respond to your points:

1. This is part of VBulletin. However, there *might* be a way to 'link' to an image you have already uploaded.

2. Not to be a wisacre, but using a couple or three smilies should get you past this.

3. I thought the current pixel-size limits and the byte counts are fairly reasonable. Granted, there might be times I'd *like* to attached a 15MP image; but it's usually best if I scale it down to a reasonable size.

1) You can use pictures more than once - https://www.turbodieselregister.com...-reuse-picture-i-attached-different-post.html

2) up to Robin if she wants to change this but the reason for it is so that people don't put up the "three word story" type posts that end up using up bandwidth/resources without adding much to the forums - it's a built in vBulletin function.

3) 109k isn't a tiny file for picture uploads. Keep in mind that there are still people out there using dial up connection. A single 109k picture takes 18 seconds to download on a 56k connection. 109k is plenty big enough to fill up the average users screen. We have the with limit of 560 pixels so that it doesn't screw up the formatting of peoples screens - if you posted a super wide picture the entire page would change to the width of your picture and people would have to scroll their window back and forth to read each and every line in a post. If you really want to post larger pictures you can use the photo gallery and post much larger pictures and link to them as well.
