At first I thought my driver door speaker was blown, it sounds very similar to a blown speaker, as the rattle is directly effected by the speaker volume, bass, etc.

If I press down on the swith panel, the noise stops completely. It is very noticable and makes listening to the stereo at mid to high volumes unpleasant.

Just wanted to know if anyone else experienced a similar problem? This started within the first 1K miles, I'm now approaching 5K and figure I should try to fix it myself, or get it in for warranty look.

Me too. Just started the last couple weeks (11k miles)

Let us know if you find any fixes. It's probably just held in there with plastic clips of some sort. The other door doesn't seem to do it.

Yep, only the driver door. I wonder if it's only on the Patriot Blue trucks ;) .

I'm doing routine maintenance this weekend, so I probably pull it off and see what I can do for a fix.

Mine does it, passenger door also. Guess I'm gonna have to start listening to the classical station because mine only does it when the bass hits. LOL :D

Mine did the same thing as I drove it off the lot. I took the panel off ( 3 screws and door handle bolt) and panel lifts off by lifting up. My thought's are the plastic seal is close to the inside of the door panel and buzzes with the radio volume. My fix was to slide a 12" X 12" of bubble wrap to dampen the inside. No problems since.

If this problem is so common, I'm suprised DC did not discover and fix it during design/R&D. The little 1/2 tons have been out for over a year with the new deisgn, so I wonder if they have had similar problems.

Sounds like an easy enough fix and a small issue.

BTW, sorry that I posted this problem, because I hear that us CTD owner's are suppose to keep our problems to ourselves and we are in denial about all the problems our trucks have. I hope I haven't opened the flood gates. :p ;)

take the door panel off, it is molded in like 3 or 4 parts then welded and glued together, take a caulk gun ( i used black silicon ) and do all the seams and welded plastic and the snap clips, also take 2 ziplock sandwich bags, put one inside the other then take some double sided sticky tape and stick it to the bag so it can be stuck to the door then shoot some "great stuff" spray foam insulation into the ziplock ( not too much) the stuff expands, close the bag, then put the zip loc close to the speaker and stick it to the door side, not where any clips or anything that might puncture the zip loc and put the panel back on and that should eliminate rattle. One or more bags can be used.
