The side view mirrors on my 90 W250 have developed a creep when on the interstate from wind and vibration, pushing in till I can only see the side of the truck. I removed the chrome plastic cover and found a two piece pot metal flange that holds the tube of the mirror head. I removed two screws of the outside pot metal flange and exposed the tube. It has a very thin plastic sleeve that when new, forms a friction surface to keep the mirror adjusted. The sleeves are cracked with pieces missing I called my local dealer who has no information regarding the tubes. Has anyone found a supply?

My brother & I had the same problem with our mirrors. Made shim stock out of a beer can. (After it was empty, of course).
