I have just added some gauges, one of them being fuel pressure. After every thing was put back together and went for a road test there was little to neg fuel pressure :{ I have not seen any codes , double checked pressure readings with a mechanical gauge just to rule out bad sending unit/ground , Mine are Westach, with the isolator hose from Geno's. Have not run truck since, should I install FASS or similar unit or relocate another pump on frame by the tank,Truck has Banks Stinger Plus in it. I would like to get what I need and get her back on the road by this weekend. Are there any cold weather Issues with pumps mounted by the tank? It get's cold in Mich sometimes :D .

Your pressures sound about normal for a dead or dying LP.

It amazes me how quickly a fuel pressure gauge, all by itself, can kill a LP. :)

Now that I have typed that, you could have more problems in you fuel delivery system. So don't take this as gospel.

But... .

I would start with the LP.

I did the locate the stock LP back by the frame thing and I can't say it helped much as far as longivity. So, instead of wasting more $$$ on another POS stock one I went with an aftermarket system. See sig for link.

I would recheck all of the wire connections. Ensure that both the gauge and the sender are connected to the same ground point. When I installed my Westach FP gauge I had a few connections that were not as tight asa it should be. I had no fuel pressure :{ , started to worry about the LP. Retightened all of the electrical connections and switched wires on the sender unit. Viola! I had 13-14 # and now have no less than 9. 5 at WOT. Good luck, let us know what the deal is. I hope it is just loose wiring.

Looked at the GFS-392 Looked good, at a good price with big line kit. Have one on the way.

You will like! :D You may wish to do the Vulcan Draw Straw mod at the same time. I broke the stock metal supply tube at the bend where it leaves the tank module when releasing/reinstalling the dorman fitting. Not only will the draw straw mod give you peace of mind but provide larger straw to draw fuel to the new pump & big lines. See pictures and verbiage in my readers rigs for "Fuel tank R & R".

Enjoy!

I did not use the kit, but I installed a GS391 with a Mallory 4307M Regulator. I went with the Vulcan Big Line kit (mostly) and the Vulcan Draw Straw.

I have 16 psi at idle and 13 psi at WOT. So far I love the set-up.

Do yourself a favor if you have the time. Install a brass ball valve just after the tank and another just before the fuel filter. Really saves allot of venting time if you decide to further mod your fuel system. I am using tie wraps to keep these valves in the open position.
