Another 48RE question

I just returned from a 650 mile round trip empty and when I pull up to a stop, you can feel the transmission delay about 5 sec before it drops all the way into 1st gear. If I don't wait for it to finally decide to go into 1st and try to accelerate then it stays in 2nd gear. Any ideas what's happening?

Could be related to the governor solenoid or governor pressure transducer or both. Needs to be diagnosed with scanner and pressure gauge.

How many miles on truck and since service?

Its got about 20K since serviced at 30K. mostly commuter miles, I pull a 8000# 5th wheel 6-8 times a year.
