The A/C in my '95 has worked flawlessly from day one until now. This week it started to take longer to blow cold air. As of this morning, it took 10 minutes of driving about 8 miles on the highway in 70 degree weather to blow cold air.

It has never been touched, recharged, or messed with in any way in 11 years. I would like to get it repaired so it has the same dependability as before. Can anyone recommend a good A/C shop in San Diego CA? Also what should I look for? I am assuming by the increasing amount of time it takes to cool off that I must have a leak and that it should be recharged at the very least.

Its only been over 100 degrees here for the last 30+ days and I would love to be cold again while driving.

As always I greatly appreciate all of the assistance from the TDR! Thanks in advance.

It probably has a leak and is low on freon alright. Look at all your connections and the compressor for oily spots that would indicate a leak. Being a '95 it's pretty likely to be a leaking evaporator as crud gets built up in there and then they rot out. I can't recommend any shops.

Air Conditioning on my 95 have to add a can of 134/freon about every 10 weeks lasted 10 years needed it big time in brawley last 3weeks

So after work last Friday, I went to Pep Boys and bought some r134a cans, an A/C manifold and another refill kit, etc... In the process of working on it, I look down and notice that while outer pully of the compressor was spinning, the center was not. So I check the A/C Clutch Relay in the Relay box in the engine compartment and it was dirty. I cleaned the contacts and it worked perfectly.
