Back in July, I purchased a 2001 2500 4x4, Auto – with approximately 52k on the odometer (one owner). The Truck is exceptionally clean & runs great. This is however, my first automatic truck. Lately, I’ve noticed the following, and was wondering if any have experienced this: Occasionally, when pulling away from a stop, the transmission seems to remain in a higher gear, which lugs the motor a little, and makes for a slower start. The transmission is not slipping, and if you shift it manually, all is fine. It only seems to happen when the stop is a “quick stop”. In other words, you come to a stop light, which turns green as soon as you have stopped. You depress the accelerator to pull away, and it’s as if you’re starting a manual transmission in 3rd gear. If you “floor it”, the truck will kick down after a short delay. From a “normal”, or longer stop – this never happens. Except for the above intermittent problem, the truck runs and behaves great. I should add that the truck is completely stock, including the wheels & tires. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
