Another dumb forum question

I have been a member here for over 2 years now, and to this day I don't know how people manage to quote other posters within a post. What I mean is, their quote looks like this:

Click on the Quote Button in the lower right corner of the post that you want to quote. Is that what you wanted?

Here is one that stumps this dinosaur (barbwire), How does a person put smilies from another site on their posts. Inquiring minds like mine want to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you go to a smile site like, www.mysmilies.com , they have a boatload of 'em, simply click on the one you want, then copy it from the top of the screen, and paste it into you post.

Go to the above site, at the top of the screen you'll see this... "click a smiley and copy the code ", then simply click on a smiley, return to the top of the page (with your cursor in the grey box containing the smile code)--- right click on your mouse and choose "copy", goto wherever you want to post that smiley, and, right click again on the mouse, and choose "paste", the code for the smiley will appear in your post, but after you post it, it will become a smile-----of some sort. Clear as mud.
