First, This has got to be the best thing since sliced bread. Thank You for all the replies!!!!

As mentioned before my check engine light goes on and off intermittently. It's done this for over two years and I can only think that there is an electrical fault somewhere. In addition to the light flickering, my Chrysler Tach also seems to die out at various RPMs (usually slower) which again leads me to think voltage...

Any ideas???

Thanks Again... .

There is a crankshaft position sensor that gives an engine speed signal to the PCM(control module), which in turn gives a signal to the tach, there is a connector on it at the front of the engine over the crankshaft pulley, and another connector at the rear of the engine(dark grey, 8 wire connector) you might check these connections for corrosion, clean and reassemble, you might also have a bad sensor...

that "tech authority"place that someone referred you to was where I bought my manual, they also have the owners manual for $6. 95 it has some pretty good info as well.....

Check Engine Lamp

Have a look at your charging voltage, the check engine lamp will come on if it is low. The alternator will keep working until at least 3 diodes fail, but might not be quite keeping up. Quick way to check the alternator is to see how hot it is getting, if it is runing hot enough that you cant hold your bare hand on it, chances are that it has problems. Factory service manual is well worth the price and should help you to resolve this problem quickly.
