ANOTHER fan question.

I have a 97 chassis/cab and was wondering how to get it off (the fan) The clutch is stuck engaged so it turns at full force all the time and is really annoying whats is the easiest way to keep the pully from turning?

Use a flat nosed punch on the fan nut. Remember the nut is LEFT handed thread.

I put some vise grips on the pully, not to hard though, just enough to keep it from spinning.

In a perfect world:

Make a wrench or try to get your hands on the fan pulley wrench that CPFF so ingeniously included in the KDP jig kit.



I love that wrench... saves busted knuckles, etc... . works really slick.

Poor mans hub holder

You can also wedge a screwdriver between 2 of the 10mm nuts that hold the hub in.

16" Channel-Locs work for me, but you must whack the nut real good with a drift first.

Thats what that wrench is for I was wandering. I got the jig in the mail Wednesday. since I could not get the fan off I could not do the KDP fix now that know what the wrench is for I will be right back, I have a fan to remove... ... .....

Deezul 1 uses an impact hammer with a dull bit. Works great.

I feel stupid!

With the wrenches it took me about five minutes to remove the fanOo. I pulled the fan out through the bottom, was real easy
