Want to pay less for diesel?

hmmm..... evil idea coming on, something involving side pipes and rolling coal #ad
crank a maxipad up to about 500 hp and slide it into a 3/4 ton gmc van, and while we are dreaming slip a 6 speed behind it and some nice suspension, t'wood make a cool daily driver

Funny commercial, but not entirely accurate/fair though. I'm pretty sure the actual A-team van had a gas motor, the 6. 2 probably weighs twice as much as the VW and the VW was a stick and the A-team van an 80's era auto:rolleyes: Funny commercial, but targeted at the un-informed... . #@$%!

It's not a commercial. It's a real UK tv show. And the point of hte A-Team van was to have some fun, not reallys how how much better a VW van is then a GMC van.

And your right, i'm sure the A-Team can did have a gasser :) Thos it is rather cool that someone had one, and painted it to match :)

Shut up you crazy fool. :-laf

I guess that is one plan that didn't come together. :D

A couple of my all time favorite A-team sayings.

I sure, Top Gear, had to find the oldest slowest diesel Van to make the VW look good. They should have had a 6. 0 Powerstroke cargo van race the thing, but I'm sure the Ford would have stumped it or break tring. I also bet that the A-team Van had a 454 in it, because I don't remember diesels being part on the popular muscle car era. But what do I know I was born yet.

It is lunacy to take a 6. 2 on a track. They were highly likely to throw a rod out the side of the block!

By the way, I believe that particular UK show is Fifth Gear, not Top Gear. Top Gear would have done a 9-minute long bit and had James May (aka Captain Slow) behind the wheel of the A-Team van.
