Well before we start everyone stop and tell me I am an idiot. "I am an Idiot!!" To bring everyone to the same page I bought a new truck over the internet about 2 weeks ago, truck is the one in my sigs and came with all the mods listed. Ran great and had tons of power but I thought that it should probably be running even better having done to it what it has. Well the first thing i noticed was that my boost was low about 15 psi. I called the guy I bought it from and asked him if it was always that low. He said no it was normally35 psi with both chips on high and about 30 or so stock. So i unhooked the quadzilla and set the downloader back to stock. I now have about 12 pounds of boost at peak and the truck feels pretty weak (my old truck... 2000 auto stock felt like it ran harder than this truck stock). The other thing it was doing was throwing a P0602 code which i figured was from the downloader, but after setting it back to stock i cleared all the codes and it still throws the 0602 code. So after trying several solutions (MAP sensor, fuel filter, air filter, IC leaks, boot leaks) I decide that I probably need to have someone else look at the truck to see what they think. We have a very good diesel shop here in town, J and H performance, but they couldn't check out my truck for at least a week and I really needed the truck for next week so I decided to try taking it in to the dealer in town, figured that at least they could tell me where the 0602 code was coming from and could reflash my ECM at the very least. Well my truck only has 70000 miles so i still have warranty left, but having had done with it what it has I have decided to kiss that good bye. When I took it in I told them what was done to the truck and what I was seeing and they said no problem we'll run diagnostics on it and see what we can find out. Well I ended up having to leave town for a project, which left my wife to pick-up the truck. Later that afternoon the dealer calls me and tells me that there is nothing wrong with my truck. They ran diagnostics and found no problems. No codes at all... . right before I took the truck to them I checked the codes by doing the ignition thing and it was still there. I told the guy that and he said when he ckecked for codes nothing came up. He then proceedes to tell me that I have a faulty gauge because they "torque braked the truck for about a minute" and were getting boosts with there machine in the 30's when mine only read 15 psi. He then proceeds to tell me that a possible problem could be the boost tap location (right in the air horn!) and it isn't registering the "actual pressure". He then tells me that my air filter is also a probable cause because the filter minder is pulled down to replace filter so it is greatly restricing the airflow. I tell him that I just cleaned the filter last weak soaking it in simple green for a couple hours and then rinsing, letting it dry and then oiling. He told me that I probably didn't get it clean enough and that what I needed to use was K and N cleaning liquid. Whatever. He then told me to go find a "clean road" and take the filter off and see for myself that the filter was causing the restriction. Yeah right I am gonna run right out and do that!! I then ask him if he reflashed it for me as I requested and he said no he would not reflash it as nothing is wrong with the truck!!! So bottom line is I got charged 98 dollars for absolutely nothing besides having my truck power braked for a minute, and being recommended to drive the truck with no air filter on!!! I am actually glad my wife picked the truck up because I really would have been ****** and probably would have hurt someone. At the end of the day though it was my own damn fault... i knew not to take it to a dealer and I did anyways. I guess I will be waiting until next week to get it in to someone who actually knows something about these trucks!!
