Website facelift!

Man how do I do it?

O. K along with the Travel Companion what would be another great tool to have by your side?

Well Communications of course!

Let's assume (A** out of U and ME) the MAJORITY of our members want to better communicate with other members to bring us one step closer. MOST of us are in a trade where NEXTEL is the primary choice of communication no matter what coast or section of the U. S we are in.

Take THAT a step further with Nextel's discount's on an Organizational multi~Phone group purchase. Let's just say out of allmost 15,000 of us 4,000 want to get a Nextel. The TDR can be the Parent for all of our puchases which should give us a large break. IN ADDITION They are rolling out their NATIONAL Direct connect feature which makes the deal even sweeter!

On top of that the 2-way ID# can be shared and or exchanged with other members to keep us in touch!

EVEN more Steve can do a MASSIVE one click text message to alert us of new updates to the site and More!

Whaddyah think?

Elaborate please to iron this out.

Some of us already share Nextel 2-way ID numbers.

Mrs Doc checked out how much it would cost her to replace her conventional cell phone, with a Nextel, and her draw dropped. I guess if there was some kind of group deal and the cost was competative, she would go for it.

Nextel coverage around here is pathetic, as it is in most areas that are not MAJOR metro centers. Nextel has a long ways to go before they are something I am going to consider.

Nextel deal

I agree that Nextel needs to improve on their coverage. My wife and I both have Nextel phones now, as well as some of my family. We are fortunate to be in a larger city (Grand Rapids, MI) and coverage is not a problem, but I have noticed several "black holes" in the coverage when outside the major metropolitan areas. I often go to Newaygo for business. That is not that small a town, but coverage in that area doesn't exist.

If you can come up with some kind of group plan through the TDR membership, count me in. This Grand Rapids 'Hollander' is always interested in saving money!

Well just like broadband it isn't available everywhere. HOWEVER those who can use nextel this would make perfect sense ... . ESPECIALY if we can make a deal with them. Up here the MAJORITY allready do have Nextel and we do use them to communicate quite a bit (Really handy on wrench days :D )

Not Feasible At This Time

We've talked about this idea, ToolManTimTaylor, but with our very limited staff, we just don't have the manpower to negotiate then maintain this type of contract. Inevitably, there would be problems between some subscribers and Nextel. And to be honest, we've stretched our small staff very thin in just maintaining the website while publishing the magazine.

I'm sorry we can't pursue this one for you.

Nextel 'group plan'

Robin,

I, for one, certainly understand your position and know you have enough to do. It brings to mind a saying a friend of mine had when asked if he were busy... ... his answer was "I am busier than a one-armed paper hanger"!

Just another thought - maybe Nextel would we willing to do the paperwork, considering it could bring in quite a bit of new business.

Paul

Oh no Robin I didn't want the TDR to burden itself with dealing with accounts. All we need is to show nextel that we are 15,000 strong :D and that alone can put us and nextel into a very tasty deal. Each account shall be handled by each end user.

What's the worst that can happen?

Early Georgin morning birds singin ... . Robin Enters the scene.

"Ya know Maybe I juust might call Nextel for Poops and Hee Hees.

Let's see here hmmm AhA! 1-800-Nextel8 what could possibly go wrong?"

"Yes I do and that's Robin With The Turbo DIESEl register"

"O. K yeah whatever ,and this would involve us letting you be a HUGE Nextel Drive unit"

"Well yest that's correct. You see Michelle we are celebrating our 15,000th member and want to enhance their Mem... ... ... . "

"oh nooo no Robin we at Nextel don't need any more members ... ..... actually we even hate money. We would like to send you some of OUR subscribers because we hate money sooo much. Have I answered your question for you?"
