I'm going to pick up my new 2013 Laramie Crew Cab dually, Aisin transmission, 4:10 rear end, true blue/silver color combo and brown interior this afternoon. Spent a sad night taking things off the 06 before the trade in. 99% of the miles on it have been my but in the drivers seat.

I am going to put the truck right to work tomorrow. I am traveling 5. 5 hours each way to pick up and trailer a small car back. I was hoping to get the full 1000 miles in before towing but I'm pretty sure the 3500 pounds behind it for the last 5 hours will not be felt at all. I will have the recommended 1000 miles on before I tow heavy. Next weekend I will be hooking up the 5th wheel so I will have a good test of it then.

Pics to follow. I tried to get some last night but they took it inside to get it ready for today. It was absolutely filthy with dust and dirt all the way from Mexico.

I did all right. Invoice plus rebates including the business link and financing through Chrysler which gave another 1000 off. I probably could have done a little better selling my truck outright but the 2 guys who have sworn to me for years that they were going to buy my truck when I sold, bailed at the last minute. Once I sell my goodies off the truck (Rickson 19. 5's, Smarty Jr. , Max Brake, all weather mats) I will come out pretty decent.

I ordered a Tonno-Pro tri fold soft cover. Shipped to the house, $259. My friend just got one and it is pretty nice. It's not exactly what i want but for the price, it will work for now. Other things are more important. I do have to get a spray in bed liner. The last truck had Rhino liner. This time I think I am going Line-X. Not sure why the dealer doesn't order them from the factory that way. I don't know of anyone who doesn't want it.

I recently made the same move. Every time I get into my '12. I still smile! Your '13 will be that much better. Enjoy!

Here she is at pickup. Sorry for crappy cell phone pics. I was in a huge hurry.

A quick drive home and all I can say is wow.

First impression, it's soooooo quiet. No wind noise, no tire noise, no motor noise, just no noise period.

Second, six speeds is nice. What is surprising though is my rpm at 70. It's not that much lower than my 48 with 4. 10's. I figured it would be a bit lower with double overdrive. No complaints, you can't hear it in the motor, just see it on the tach. Maybe it's an Aisin gearing thing compared to the 68RFE. Either way, I wouldn't get rid of this transmission for anything.

Third, a TON of bells and whistles. I haven't had time to play at all with the touch screen stuff but easily managed to at least pair my phone with it.

Fourth. Did I mention its quiet?

Fifth. The bad. I have both the back up camera and the 3rd brake light camera. Ram screwed the pooch on this one. They moved the back up camera to the rear view mirror and put the pic of the bed of the truck on the big screen. That blows and I am going to see if there is anyway to swap the connectors around and switch places. Please some of you techs check into this. I feel this is going to be a large complaint with his option. That being said, I was still able to connect to my utility trailer with the small picture in the mirror tonight in the dark.

I have since put on rear OEM mudflaps. Installation was easy, one hard to maneuver hole to drill in plastic (no drilling through metal). I went to put the fronts on but they sent me home with SRW rear mudflaps. Guess there will be a phone call tomorrow. I have to go Wednesday to pick up the fifth wheel rail kit along with the all weather mats so they should be able to get the mud flaps in by then too.

One last good bit of news, as I was on my way to delivery, I remembered that we forgot to put my lease loyalty rebate in the deal so I ended up with another $1000 off.

I will be pulling an empty 18 foot utility trailer for 5. 5 hours then loaded with a Mitsubishi Evo on the way back. I will try and get some MPG for those interested.

As for the Max Brake, I am going to see how the stock controller works with my fifth wheel next weekend. If between the exhaust brake and controller I find it acceptable (better than the 5. 9 with no exhaust brake), then I will put it up for sale. If the new one sucks, I will be installing it on this truck.

That sure is a pretty truck!

Was your 06 a SRW or DRW?

06 w/ 4. 10's and 245's on a 19. 5 will drop the rpms quite a bit over a stock tire.

'06 w/4. 10's and stock tires at 70 is ~2175 rpms
'06 w/4. 10's and 245/70/19. 5 at 70 is ~2050 rpms
'13 with 4. 10's and stock tires at 70 is ~1950 rpms

6th is the same on the Aisin as the 68RFE (so is 4th, but the rest are different).

Nice looking truck! I see you have the Voltage 3905, I have a 3800 (same size, different floor plan). I'd really like to hear how your truck pulls it and what kind of mileage you get. Our trucks seem to be identical except you have 4. 10's and I have 3. 73's.

Well I put 750 miles on it yesterday. It was a joy to drive and ride in. There is a little getting used to the training wheels on the back. I always take wide turns, just need to keep that practice up. I pulled an empty 18 foot utility trailer both there and back. Long story short, my buddy ended up not getting his car. My old truck got 13 mpg pulling it empty (those rear ramps act just like a parachute, loaded with cars I got 15). All highway, I got 10. 7 mpg hand calculated (12. 3 overhead) and 11. 6 on the way back (12. 1 overhead). I am not sure how much DEF was actually in the tank from the factory, I assume just enough to make the gauge look full but it read 1/2 full last night. I was able to put 2 1/2 gallons in and now it reads full.

Trans temp was 165-167 the entire trip, water temp 192, oil temp 201. I was really impressed at how these temperatures never fluctuated.

There are so many new electronic screens and gizmos that I am still finding new things to look at. Love the boost gauge.

A word of caution!!! You need to pick up a different pin to hold your ball into the receiver. This is a 2 1/2 inch, not a 2 inch receiver and a regular one will not work for very long. Walmart sells appropriate sized ones that lock for $20.

I'm guessing you found the 2" adapter in the rear floor pockets for the class 5 hitch? I had no clue they were there, as I got no walk around after I bought mine, till guess what. . I have a extra now. LOL Awesome truck. Congrats !!!
