where do i install the FP gauge sender (pic of filter housing)

Hi everyone, I've been looking around this forum for a couple of days. I had paid the subscription, but didn't know I was able to get on the forum until today.

I bought a 1996 Dually Club Cab on Ebay. In fact I'm picking it up early in the morning tomorrow about 300 miles from where I'm at in NW Wisconsin. The truck's only got 49000 miles on it, and I found it at a Chrysler dealer.

My main question would be, since I've never owned a diesel vehicle, except my David Brown tractor. What are some of the things I should be most concerned with on my first trip with that truck??? I'm thinking I should bring a few tools. Anything I should pick up to carry with me? Any and all help will be GREATLY appreciated. :)

Thanks, Loudsam

It would be a good idea to see if you can get hold of the previous owner to find out if there have been any mods.

No need to carry any tools. I do, but I'm kind of a nut anyway.

You will need to take care of the KDP (Killer Dowell Pin) and probably the fuel hoses. Other than that there should be no imediate things if it is running good. Email me at -- email address removed -- for instructions on how to tab the KDP. Cheap to prevent that failure, very expensive to fix it if it gets you. The original stock fuel hoses are junk and will cause problems. Get a replacement hose kit at:

http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/default.htm so you will get the correct type of hose.

Try not to let any of these guys talk you into making power mods. That's a desease (bombitis) that is easy to catch and there is no cure.

Welcome to the TDR said the spider to the fly.  :D
