My pin has been officially laid to rest:cool: Oo. Oo. the whole job along w/ changing coolant and hoses w/a few breaks took 3 hours up to washing hands. I feel relieved. The only problem is I forgot the code to my stereo and now have to find the paperwork on it. When I disconnected the batts before removing the alt. Oh well I,ll figure it out:p

When we dis our pins afterwords we thought you

could do the whole job without removeing the shroud.

What do you think? It would save allot of time

and cussing.

I did not remove my shroud doing a KDP tab fix. There is sufficient room to get the fan out by just pushing the top radiator hose back a little. No need to disconnect the hose either.

We didn't think you needed to take the shroud out

either. That wasted a good 40 minutes. It's been

a while since we did it but I swear the directions

told us to take out the shroud.

FIXED MY KDP TODAY....

FIXED MY KDP TODAY. AFTER 106,00 MILES MY PIN HAD NOT EVEN MOVED. BUT, IT IS STAYING PUT FOR SURE AT THIS POINT. A LITTLE TRICK USED TODAY, THAT I HAVE USED IN THE PAST IS THIS. WHEN PUTTING ON THE GASKET FOR THE GEAR COVER, TRY USING A FEW TWISTY'S (TRASH BAG TYPE) LOOSELY TIED ON A FEW OF THE HOLES. THIS WILL HOLD THE GASKET IN PLACE 'TILL YA GET A FEW BOLTS STARTED. THIS ALL OF COURSE DEPENDS ON WHAT KIND OF GASKET SEALER YOU USE. I LIKE THE SPRAY ON COPPER COLOR'D GASKET SEALER MY SELF. I HOPE THIS HELPS SOME OF YOU OUT THERE WHO ARE GETTING READY TO DO THIS MOST IMPORTANT P. M. ON YOU RAM'S. GOOD LUCK. BY THE WAY, I USED THE TDR DISCOUNT CODE AT CUMMINS. IT IS A NICE DISCOUNT. IT IS GOOD FOR A WHOLE YEAR. SO BUY UP!!!

"CHICKENHAWK"

P. S. I DID NOT TAKE OFF MY

SHROUD EITHER.

KDP fixed

My kdp is fixed and the jig is on the way to The Patriot.

The fix went well; the pin hadn't moved.

While everything was apart, I decided to replace the water pump, since the original one looked like it was weeping slightly. I figured that it would never be any easier to do than right then. Finding a replacement was more tedious than doing the job. Local dealers didn't stock it, so I wound up going to Cummins Power. I did check at Auto-Zone and they had a new aftermarket pump for half the price of a Cummins Reman, but I wasn't about to bolt that thing on my truck. It was UGLY!! Very coarse casting and no conical ring on the impellor like OE. Lifetime warranty or not, if the overall quality matched the casting quality, I wanted no part of it. (Has anyone used aftermarket pumps ??)

Thank you CPFF for making the jig available!! You've helped provide some peace of mind for one more TDR member.

Hi Lynn. I got it today. I'm doing mine with the tab since it sprung a leak in the front seal. :(

I gotta take off the front cover anyway so... ... .

So if anyone wants C. P. F. F. jig #16, I got it. :D

I'd like to thank C. P. F. F. on this. This is a quality set!!!:D

OOps....

Ok, I got your PM, the site used to let me know when I had a PM any time I logged in, but for some reason I'm only getting notifications through my e mail now.

Well nevertheless, whoever wants the jig, please let me know.

Eric:D
