Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) another stack qusetion

Does anyone know if I had a 5" stainless stack(pipe) powdercoated would it withstand the heat it will be subjected to. I really want a nice single black stack. I like chrome, but think my truck would look better black??? THank you, Marc
