Eric, its plastic with an o-ring. I had to quit working on it for the day, but I will try to get another screw in it tommorrow. Ill try heating it also. Any other ideas... . ANYONE?

Well I got the stupid thing out. TDR should redo the last issue on how to replace it if this sort of thing happens. I really chipped at it until I got down to the o-ring, then I put the self tapper back into it and gave it a twist and "POP" it came loose. The end of the sensor was broken, but it dosent look like anything inside the motor let loose. I had a flex lite and a miror up in there for a good 30min. So I installed the new sensor buttoned everything back up, and the stupid thing still dosent start. I have real low fuel pressure at the vp now, where as before I didnt. I also have some pretty weak batteries after all of this. I think the low batteries are keeping th FASS from primeing at this point. I'll work on it again tommorrow night after work. Also I cranked on it for awhile with the one and three injector lines cracked, after that i put the code scanner back on and I'm not pulling any codes at this time. I thought I would just put in an update, I do appreciate everybodys ideas they helped alot. Im not out of the woods yet, but alot closer now

Wow Jeff that really sucks. Put a charger on those batteies and plug it in. Hopefully you just need to get it over the hump. You should be squiriting diesel out of any injector that is open.

If the tone wheel inside the motor let lose, but I had a new sensor installed, would I still pull a 0335 or 0336 code from the motor. Or is only a defective crank shaft sensor going to put out that code... ... ... ... . Still strugleing here!!!!!!!!!

You said the end or the old sensor was broken. Did you break it getting it out, or was it allready broken? If you didn't break it removing it, no doubt the tone wheel hit it. The only way it can hit it is if it's loose or came off. Did you try moving the tone wheel to see if it was loose? You wouldn't be able to just that it was loose unless it was about falling off. It's in two pieces so it's possible one section could be tight and the other loose. Did the code come back again, or are you asking if the tone wheel was missing would it throw that code? Could you not see the tone ring when you were looking? You should have seen a toothed ring when looking in the sensor hole. The sensor is a hall effect sensor. I would think a code would be thrown if it wasn't sensing the impulses caused by the tone ring, but don't know that for a fact. Sounds like you need to pull the sensor out and investigate further. I've heard of two results of tone wheels coming off. One is that it falls harmlessly to the bottom of the oil pan. The other is it breaks the crankshaft, block, or both. I have read of both of those happening to members here. My experience came from the inlaws '98. 5 that had only come loose.

I am really unsure if I broke the tip of the sensor or if the tone wheel hit it. When I working on getting it out I ran that self tapper down in there. Well, I ran it in there really deep, and dead center ,I may have pushed the tip of the sensor apart. I will be pulling everything back apart to have a look and if the tone wheel is loose to the touch. I saw it up in there, it looked in good shape. At the time I had the truck apart though, I didnt know it could come lose so I never tried to move it. Live and learn I guess.

I finally got the thing running again. After changeing out the crank Shaft sensor and the fuel filter it wouldnt start. After cranking and cranking I shot some staring fluid in her and finally got her to run. Now for the next problem. I let the truck run in the driveway for a good 20min. , I had good pressure on everything. The truck seemed to shift kinda high in the rpm. I thought at first it was just cause it sat for so long. Then at the next stop sign I turn on the Power Max/Comp... ... ... ... ... wow couldnt even drive it. Truck was upshifting and down shifting sputttering all over itself. I looked down at the code scanner I left on the seat with me and I now have a P0122. So whats up with that. How did the throttel position sensor get messed up..... Any ideas?

I may have put my last question/post up to early. I did so more reading. Do I simply need to let the truck go through a "Computer Relearn Process", being that I had the batteries unhooked for so long? If so, it dosent even need to be said that it would be with the POWER MAX OFF!!
