Well, a first for me, but I've seen em before. I got dang lucky it didn't drop and get pounded by the piston.

I know this happens to some stock motors, but mine is not stock and it's been beat on pretty hard. I've seen EGT's in excess of 2000 degrees on many occasions, not to mention a ton of passes down the track at WOT.

Anyways, here's a couple of pics of the little damage I got.

HMMmmmm - dunno - looks like that piston took a pretty good hit - do you plan on doing anything related to the piston, rings, etc. ?

Nah, I'll put it back together like it is. The cylinder walls look fine.

We did a leak down on the rest of the pistons and they were all less than 1% leakdown.

It's exactly like I was hoping it would be. I knew something was keeping that valve down. At least I have a good reason to get the studs in it now.

First time I saw someone with a truck down, parts scattered all over the garage with the head off and a smile on his face:-laf.

Must be all that good livin' to be that lucky:rolleyes:.

I have first hand information that Curtis has been more lucky than good, but it doesn't count because he hasn't been good.

*wish I had video of him whipping the Sentra!!!!!!!* :-laf:-laf:-laf

Forrest,

Ok 5 Michelin 265/70R/17 LTX A/S OEM Load Range E tires mounted on 4 Polished Alloys and one black spare wheel. Take offs from a 2007. They were on the ground a couple of weeks.

Send me a PM with a decent offer.

I have been sliding a little too much today on the rain slick streets. So I am gonna need rubber soon. I am afraid if I keep them around I will put them on. Then I would have to be riding on stock tires for the next year and a half.

That looks familiar... Mine looked exactly like that, piston and all. Actually had 2 other loose seats as well. I also added the studs at that time also. seeing it was an easy time to do it. Hope you get it all fixed and running agoin soon.

The machine shop is checking all the seats. Gonna do a little porting before they put it all together. Just to clean things up a bit.

Like I said, when you put a truck through I put mine though, you better expect things to break at some point.

After I restarted the truck at the Mexican place down the road, the truck had a little bit of a miss and a very pronounced whomp noise from the tailpipe.

I pulled the valve cover off and #1 exhaust rocker had about 3/16" of clearance over the valve bridge. Figured something was wrong then. Pulled the rocker and the pushrod wasn't bent or anything.

Towed it to the shop and we pulled the injectors and did a leakdown test on #1 and it was over 80% leakdown. After you got all the stuff out of the way you could see the valve just just a bit lower than the other, and had a slight angle to it.
