I'm now on my 5th replacement water-in-fuel drain lever. I installed about six months ago and it is now leaking fuel badly. I'm so feed up with this little piece of plastic junk leaking fuel all over like a BP OIL SPILL.

Anyone have a couple extra absorbent mats for the garage floor clean up?:-laf:-laf:-laf

I 'm now considering removing the valve and replacing it with a metal plate and sealing it in place with some kind of sealant.

Can anyone out there tell me what kind/brand of sealant to use?

I have never had water in my fuel, knock on wood, as I purchase at good places, so far. :)

TIA, Tom

Yes it is the WIF lever valve. I have also replaced the two small o-rings between the valve and the fuel canister before, which stopped the leak from between the canister and the WIF lever.

The problem now is the internal, what ever, seal(s) spring that gives up and leaks fuel.

I'm so sick and tired of this problem. I'm going to fix it once and for all. Just like I did with the crank case breather blowing oil all over the engine compartment.

Then I will be able to clean the under side of the engine and frame and locate my next problem leak of power steering fluid. I had to add a pint of PS fluid the other morning and that's when I found the fuel leaking... ..... Oo. Oo. Oo.

Update. Told WIF lever is Discontinued

:) Update, now that I have calmed down from when I started this post.

I went to the local Rocky Mountain Cummins Dealer and asked for the WIF lever.

I was told that it (P#3959453-S KIT, DRAIN FLG) has been discontinued.

I was lucky, because I just got the last one they had.

I asked what will I do in the future when this WIF lever fails and I can't buy another one?

I was told they sell the FASS system and they pointed to the stack of brochures on the counter and I'm thinking about installing a FASS like a lot of members have and solve that fuel leaking mess I've been dealing with.

Cheers,

Tom
