OK so I finally did it. I pulled the pin on an exhaust system. Order an ANSA from Geno's.

Q: Has anyone else installed this system?

Q: Can you tell me any difficulties you had or tips to give me?

I have already soaked the bolts on the flange that connects to the turndown elbow with the exhaust pipe. Any help would be appreciated folks.

Go ahead and flame away!!!!! you can tell i have been beat up on Pirate huh???

Thanks!!

John

For removal I figured as much... ... ... ... ... ... . Has anyone had to mod or make additional brackets or anything like that?

I have their 304 stainless hx-40 down pipe... top notch stuff. I had to bend the transmission support clamp a bit but for a stock replacement sys. you should be fine.

Doesn't everyone get beat up on Pirate4x4? lol. Lance used to be a member here.

Anyway. . I'm pretty sure you'll have no issues. Installing exhaust on these trucks is real straightforward. If you can operate the sawzall to get the old one off, you'll have no problems getting the new one on.

What year is your truck? Some turbos have different style connectors on the downpipe... sometimes I've had issue with that. Otherwise, it's a killer mod. You'll love it.

If Geno's carries it, it's a quality product. Enjoy it.

Just put one on with no problems, altho I did create one by installing at night in the driveway and not COMPLETELY remebering the diagram. Since I have the LB I put the one extension pipe after the muffler and had the muffler in backwards (duh), thing is it all fit pretty well, then I rechecked th diagram (oh crap), luckily I did not clamp anything at the time I realized it. I only made one sawzall cut as close as possible to the crossbeam and the down pipe came out with just a little coaxing, the tailpipe had rusted off right behind the muffler so I did not have to cut there.

Funny thing the day after I picked up my exhaust the Genos Garage catalog came in the mail and I was happy to see they picked it to add to the lineup...

Like Butter!!!

The exhaust system was easy to put on as you all said. The hardest thing was beating the 5" Exhaust tip on with a mallet!!!!! Rubber that is. Thanks for the help. Not too loud, my wife even likes the sound. She even said it looked Nice!!! Wooow Whooooo!:)

+2 Lbs of boost?

I did notice under full uphill load this weekend that now I register 34 lbs of boost instaed of 31/32 Lbs. I guess the safe assumption is the exhaust has an easier time getting out allowing the turbo to move faster?? Oh yeah dropped 150 degrees as well... ... ... .
