Just trying to keep this active

Sure was a great event! Good to see some familiar faces! Wish my hook went better, but i need to make more changes, fueling at most in order to keep up with those duramaxes. He with the most money usually wins and that was the case with Mr. Esteves' Smokin' Max. At least I was the best finishing Dodge, I just need to get more RPMs and top end fueling then I will be closing that gap between me and the chevys.

That was a fun event, it was a first time for me. Does anyone know of anyothers in California this year? I would like to get at least one more in.

You know Joe,,,, I know exactly what you mean. I was the best finishing dodge in Work Stock. Just gotta get some more fuel and Rpms,, Ha Ha ha. And I will kick butt. Wait, I can't afford all of that. Bummer. :{

Well I had a blast being first until I got killed by 3 DuraMaxs.

Hollister, San Benito County Fair Oct 3rd.

Sacramento Raceway, Oct 10th.

Those are my last 2 of the season, there is one in Ceres, CA on Sept. 19th and another on Oct. 24th but I will not go there again, it's a sand pit and pulling at the beach is not vey fun for me or the truck. :-laf

I see that's a five-hour event. Who organizes it?

A guy named Dave Rovella and yes, it's a long event. At least they are starting it at 3:00 again instead of 7. When it started at 7 it would go till midnight easy. Just gotta get through all the local gassers first then our class hooks around the last hour or so. Lots of fun, you'll never see more trucks break at any other track then Hollister, driveshafts just flyin' out of trucks left & right... ... :-laf

Joe

What is your weight? Their diesel classes are 8500lbs instead of the typical 8000lbs. and their tech is almost non-exsistent for the diesels, they have no idea what to look for. It's mostly a gasser event but a great track none the less... . very hard and tacky. :)

Joe

Yup, the rule is 1-2" of travel in the rear but as I stated above tech is pretty much non-exsistent @ Hollister, especially for the diesels. All they do is look at the truck and if you got stack with no weights your in the stock of street class, if you hang weights then I am pretty sure they put you in the extreme class. I didn't go last year but I was there in '07 and they had 2 diesel classes and one exhibition. Not sure what they will have this year but either way it's a great event to attend, LOTS of trucks for 5+ hours.
