Fired up the truck this morning and the ABS light and brake light came on and is still on. The abs sounds like it is running even after turning the key off. What gives? I pulled the wiring connector to stop the abs motor from pulling down the battery. Thanks. By the way this is on a 2000 3500 CTD

If the pump runs after the key is turned off like that, it is generally a bad control module. I've seen a bunch of them fail like that.

Suggestion:Replace the speed sensor located on top of the rear differential. I had same situation, replaced it and was back on the road. Auto parts store carry it, or dealer will have it. LOL

Thanks guys. I,m going to parts store in am and try the speed sensor first. If not that, off to the *******.

If it's the speed sensor your speedo will usually be jumping around, But it doesn't cause the abs to keep running. Maybe I'm smokin' crack. We will see

took it down to Auto Zone and they couldnt pull any codes. Said it took a special tester which costs big bucks to test the ABS. Made an appointment with the dealer. We will see. Thanks to all, MOE

No codes if the sensor in diff is bad, just ABS and Brake lights. That sensor is a high failure item in the ABS system and is the cause of this problem more than anything

The dealer said (cost 88 dollars) that it would cost an additional 547 dollars for a new ECM unit installed and programmed. I didnt fall for that and just kept on driving it. The steering wheel blocks the lights anyway. I may try jtwcummins idea just for the heck of it.
