I am ordering a new 05 and I am wondering if I should go with this option. Any imput would be helpful as far a positive's & negitive's. :)

Are you talking about the locking storage? I am looking at the order right now and it shows a "flat folding load floor storage" is that it?

limited slip is a must! I had left it off the 04 I had and it would get stuck in wet grass! ORDER IT!

IMHO, both the anti-spin and the fold flat load floor are must-haves.

The load floor lives under the rear seats on a quad cab. If you fold the seats up, you can unfold the floor, giving you a flat surface to transport stuff inside the cab. It's split 40-60, just like the seats, so you don't have to use up the whole back seat area.

In addition to hauling, I sometimes unfold it and then put the seats back down. It gives the grandkids a raised floor instead of letting their feet dangle. A kid with dangling feet WILL kick the seat in front of them!

O. k. The axel has been ordered and according to the dealer it will be coming with the floor storage. Is that something specific that I need to specify with the order? Just making sure that is the case that it is included with the Laramie.

Fold flat storage comes with Laramie. With my SLT, it was included when I ordered leather. With cloth seats, I think you have to order fold flat storage specifically.

No matter what your config, be sure to get it.

For the small price it will cost you now, it is the best bargain Dodge offers. Their is no doubt that you should get it.

Let me change my opinion on my post a few above... . I pulled off a driveway today to let someone pass. I had one tire on dry pavement and one on wet weeds. The tire on wet weeds spun like hell and the one on the pavement did NOTHING! If that is what I get for ordering anti spin, I should have saved my $$$... I had to throw it into $WD to get my truck the 15 inches back on the driveway. . That was a total joke. The buddy of mine that was with me couldn't beleive that it happened. I had to pull out my window sticker to prove I had anti-spin. . I think I got charged for it but it wasnt installed. It is also on the option sheet in the glove box.

PJ; If you do a search of the Limited slip axles you will find that numerous owners have had the same complaint with this AAM piece of junk. The old DANA's were much better and more responsive. However, there are numerous individuals who praise these things up and down and try to justify the poor performance; but it doesn't make any difference when you are stuck in a place that a true LSD would drive you right out of. This problem coupled with the high speed vibration issue are enough for me to declare AAM axles as total garbage. I for one would like to see Diamler Chrylser return to a descent drive system.

Now if this inflames any one I am sorry, just put it off as ranting due to temporary insanity brought on by the mention of one of my pet peeves. Carl

The GM's use AAM axles without major issues. I don't know what some of you are so upset about. The Dana's are necessarily the cats meow. They had their problems too.

The Anti-spin I believe likes a little braking to help it out when in a tough situation. It's torque biased.

Read the 2nd gen forums and you will hear the same complaints about the Dana rear ends. If one wheel has very low traction and the other one has good traction, the only thing that's going to help is a locker.

I've tried to nail that through their heads in MANY of the posts about the 'anti-spin'... they won't listen even though you are 100% correct. Like Klenger said... this thing is NOT a locker.
