I have a 2002 h. o. that is due to have the antifreese changed for the 1st. time. The manual says to use a low silicate ethelene-glycol based antifreese. Does anybody have any recomendations of brand and where to purchase. I'm trying to avoid going to the dealer and paying 3 times what it is worth.

Whoah Hey scott! The Premix Fleetgard stuff called Compleat I see everyone talkin' about looks like it's the one to use. (unless there is better out now?)

ES Compleat from Cummins is what I have. Somewhere around $8. 00ish a gallon for the premix in Phoenix. Prices do vary.

Anti-freeze can start quite a uproar, but I use the Zerex G-05 HOAT (hybrid organic acid technology). This is the same stuff they put in the new trucks and most new chryslers. The fleetgard stuff is excellent also. What ever you can find easy is the stuff to use. Go through and check out some of these threads - Antifreeze Here is one thread that will lead you to other good threads with some information for you. Antifreeze 2

I believe if you look in your back issues of TDR, there is an article with suggestions on how to completely change ALL of your coolant. I will try to look for it this evening. I believe it entales going to the hardware store and buying some garden hose parts or something. I found it interesting, and helpful. Now I just have to MAKE the time to change the antifreeze.
