I'm looking at a used 98 3500 12V that has had a headgasket replaced to stop a coolant leak at the head bolts, didnt fix it.



Any ideas?

I've got a 96 12 valver and I have a little coolent leak around or above the oil filter. My head has never been taken off what is that? :(

Remember that oil filter is mounted on to the oil cooler, if one of the gaskets for the oil cooler leaks you might see a seep around the outside.

Check real carefully for hairline cracks between the headbolts in that area. Had it happen before. Wipe the head dry and then run at high idle 1500-2000 rpm's and watch for sepage.
