What antifreeze meets the Dodge specifications for the 2004. 5 diesel.

Correct, its the easiest to find and the factory fill (but a different color).

I checked out ZEREX G-05.
The antifreeze I purchased from my Dodge dealer says:
MOPAR ANTIFREEZE/COOLANT 5 year / 100,000, 05066386AA, EMBITTERED, MS-9769
MEETS ASTM D-3306, ASTM D-4340
The information on the internet about ZEREX G-05 (color is yellow) shows:
Meets or exceeds: DaimlerChysler MS 9769, ASTM D 3306, ASTM D4340
Inaddition ZEREX G05 meets or exceeds: Cummins 14603, ASTM D 1384, ASTM D2570,
ASTM D2809 (alum water pump), HOAT
chemistry.
Unless someone can tell me different-IT LOOKS LIKE XEREX G05 will meet the OEM specifications. The 1 gallon I purchased 2 years ago was about $27 from Dodge. Hopefully ZEREX G05 will cost MUCH less.

Other than color they are the same fluid. It will be much cheaper thru a parts store. The other nice thing about getting Zerex and not Mopar is the Zerex says its good for 60 mo or 150K, not that the fluids are different just different label.

Approx 7. 4 gallons for the cooling system.

start with 3 gal then check to see if you will need more. I have 4gal will change it in the morring. will let you know in about 2 days.
